Opportunities

The total trade volume between our country and Lithuania exceeded $100 million in 2023, with electronic components being the main trade items exported. Lithuania located at the southern end of the Baltic States is a member of the EU and boasts the ice-free port of Klaipeda. Its trade radiates across Northern Europe, the Baltic Sea, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, and other countries. In 2021, Taiwan established a representative office in Lithuania, and the first fully Taiwanese-operated online bank obtained a business license from the Bank of Lithuania in 2023, enabling Taiwanese businesses to easily open accounts online.

Due to trade sanctions imposed by countries like the US and Europe on China, demand for Taiwanese trade in the Central and Eastern European countries, with Lithuania as the gateway, has surged in recent years. Our National Development Council also offers a $1.2 billion investment and financing project for Central and Eastern Europe, encouraging Taiwanese businesses to establish supply chain relationships with local companies to expand production scale.
